Magdeburg/Münster – WHEELS Logistics is strengthening its Magdeburg location: the logistics service provider has opened a new warehouse in the Magdeburg/Sülzetal industrial park. Here, the company handles 1.1 million beverage cans daily.
“The new location offers us significantly better general conditions than was previously the case,” says Sven Patrias, Managing Director of WHEELS Logistics GmbH & Co. KG. The company, which is headquartered in Münster, has been present in Magdeburg since 2019. But the conditions in the old warehouse were no longer sufficient to meet the increased requirements of the logistics service provider.
In search of a new location, WHEELS Logistics found what it was looking for in the new Magdeburg/Sülzetal industrial park. Now the company has 5,200 square meters of storage space where pallets of beverage cans can be stacked four high – instead of two high as before. The daily throughput is 1.1 million beverage cans or 175 pallets.
Good location tipped the scales
“Here in the Magdeburg/Sülzetal industrial park, we have optimal general conditions such as excellent access to the A14 highway,” Sven Patrias continues. A customer from the beverage industry has a production site in the immediate vicinity. At the same time, the destinations, especially in Eastern Europe, are very easy to reach from Magdeburg.
